Google has officially announced a massive update to its artificial intelligence suite, integrating the Gemini app with NotebookLM to create a unified research and writing ecosystem.

The new feature, titled ‘Notebooks in Gemini’, is designed to help knowledge workers, researchers, and students manage complex projects within a single, synchronized workspace.

The integration allows users to upload PDFs, images, and documents into dedicated notebooks, providing the AI with deep context to generate more accurate summaries and insights.

A key highlight for Nigerian professionals is the persistent memory feature, which ensures that notes captured on mobile devices during fieldwork sync instantly to desktop versions, maintaining momentum despite connectivity challenges.

This integration transforms Gemini into a robust personal knowledge hub, bridging the conversational power of Gemini with the advanced visual and video summary capabilities of NotebookLM.

The rollout has commenced for Google AI Ultra, Pro, and Plus subscribers on the web, with mobile access and availability for free users expected in the coming weeks.
