Boko Haram Issues 72-Hour Ultimatum for 416 Captives; Demands N5 Billion Ransom
The Borno South Youths Alliance (BOSYA) has raised a distress alarm following a "final warning" video released by Boko Haram terrorists on April 19, 2026.
The group, which is currently holding 416 women and children abducted from Ngoshe, has issued a strict 72-hour ultimatum for their demands to be met.
While the spokesperson in the video did not explicitly list all conditions, BOSYA President Samaila Kaigama confirmed that a ransom demand of N5 billion was communicated during the mediation process.
The terrorists warned that if the deadline passes, the victims will be moved to undisclosed locations, making rescue impossible.
“Take a look at them before we do so, because you may never see them again. If the government believes it can rescue them by force, you are free to try,” the terrorist spokesperson declared.
BOSYA has issued an urgent appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Babagana Zulum, and prominent philanthropists including Aliko Dangote and Abdul Samad Rabiu, to intervene immediately to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe.
The victims were taken during a brutal attack on a military base in Ngoshe on March 4, 2026.
