A 16-year-old schoolgirl, Precious Okafor, has shared a harrowing account of her ordeal at the hands of Evangelist Dozie Ezani, the General Overseer of Jesus Is Ontop Ministry in Amichi, Anambra State.
The teenager, who was brought from Lagos by her aunt for "special deliverance" from supposed marine spirits, was allegedly raped repeatedly by the cleric on the church altar and at his poultry farm.
Speaking at the Onitsha office of the Anambra State Special Anti-Touting Squad (SASA), Precious revealed that the pastor exploited her during her weakest moments, having denied her food for days.
She further alleged that the pastor gave her local herbal concoctions to drink in a desperate attempt to terminate a suspected pregnancy resulting from the abuse.
"He forcibly had intercourse with me, both in the church and sometimes at his poultry farm... He threatened to kill me if I told his wife or anyone else about his actions," Precious stated.
The suspect, Dozie Ezani, has since been arrested and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka.
When questioned, the cleric admitted to the act but blamed it on the "handiwork of the devil."
As reported by Punch, the victim is currently receiving medical attention for internal bleeding caused by the illegal abortion attempt.
