President Trump Warns Netanyahu Against Striking Iranian Gas Fields Amid Rising Global Energy Fears
United States President Donald Trump has publicly advised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to cease military strikes on Iran’s critical energy infrastructure.
Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump confirmed he had issued a direct warning to the Israeli leader to prevent further escalation that could cripple global gas and oil supplies.
The warning follows a recent Israeli strike on Iran’s South Pars gas field, an operation the White House claims it "knew nothing about" despite reports suggesting Washington was aware of the plans.
The strike prompted Tehran to retaliate by targeting energy facilities in Qatar, leading to significant volatility in international energy markets.
“I told him, don’t do that, and he won’t do that,” Trump said regarding his conversation with Netanyahu. “We get along great... but on occasion, he’ll do something, and if I don’t like it... we’re not doing that anymore.”
While Trump is restraining Israel from further infrastructure attacks, he simultaneously issued a stern warning to Tehran.
He stated that the U.S. could "massively" target the South Pars field if Iran continues to strike "innocent" targets like Qatar.
Iran has responded with a threat of "zero restraint" should its facilities be hit again.
The conflict, which escalated on February 28, remains focused on weakening Iran’s nuclear and missile capabilities, though the economic impact continues to drive global oil prices higher.
