According to Nabilusi Abubakar K/Na’isa, the Ministry's spokesperson, the mother of five—comprising three boys and two girls—suffered from persistent postpartum hemorrhaging. Despite intensive efforts by medical teams to stabilize her, she succumbed to the complications.

“She had been bleeding since after delivery, and all efforts by doctors to control the situation were unsuccessful,” K/Na’isa confirmed.

The death comes just 24 hours after the Kano State Government announced it would take full responsibility for the medical bills of the family. The surviving quintuplets are reportedly in stable condition and remain under specialized care.

The Ministry has issued an urgent appeal to the public for donations of infant formula (milk) and other essential supplies to support the newborns.
