The Super Eagles of Nigeria have touched down in Türkiye to begin a journey of redemption following their failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
Under the guidance of Coach Eric Chelle, the three-time African champions will participate in a four-nation tournament featuring Jordan, Iran, and Costa Rica.
The tournament offers a fresh start for the squad, which last saw action during their third-place finish at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
While the team is missing star striker Victor Osimhen and defender Calvin Bassey due to injuries, the 22-man camp is bolstered by 2024 African Player of the Year Ademola Lookman, alongside veterans Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is refusing to give up on their slim World Cup hopes.
FIFA recently rejected the NFF's petition challenging the eligibility of players fielded by DR Congo during the play-offs.
NFF General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi confirmed on Wednesday that the federation is immediately appealing the decision.
“We have received the decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, but we are not satisfied. I want to assure Nigerians that the NFF has commenced the process of appealing,” Sanusi stated.
As the intercontinental play-offs begin this Thursday, the Super Eagles will focus on building momentum with new faces like Collins Yira and Emmanuel Oluwasegun Fernandez, hoping to prove they remain a powerhouse of African football.
