Nigerian singer Harrysong has escalated his bitter marital dispute by sending a legal cease-and-desist notice to his estranged wife, Alexer Peres, demanding a public apology or a staggering N1 billion in damages for alleged defamation.
Alexer shared a screenshot of the legal letter on her Instagram story, revealing that Harrysong’s lawyers gave her a 14-day ultimatum to retract her public statements about emotional abuse and harassment or face a lawsuit seeking monetary damages and equitable relief.
Reacting defiantly, Alexer accused the singer of orchestrating a smear campaign while avoiding direct confrontation. She wrote, “Sending your friends and sisters to post lies as damage control. Hiding behind the camera. Why don’t you use your own page to spread the lies yourself, yet na you still bring another letter for me today, suing me for 1 billion naira if I don’t come out to debunk and apologise after 14 days. Omo na wa smh.”
The legal threat follows Alexer’s emotional announcement last week that she was temporarily relinquishing custody of their two children, citing years of harassment and unannounced visits by the singer. Harrysong had previously stated he remained silent to protect the family, describing himself as an involved father and warning that false narratives could damage his career.
Alexer has vowed not to back down in her fight for the children, accusing Harrysong of manipulating content featuring them. The couple’s separation has been marred by accusations of infidelity, emotional distress, and a miscarriage suffered by Alexer in 2024.
This N1 billion lawsuit marks a dramatic intensification of their public feud, moving the conflict from social media accusations to the courtroom.
