Pep Guardiola insists Manchester City still have “hope” in the Premier League title race despite dropping two points in a 2-2 draw with Tottenham, which leaves them six points behind leaders Arsenal.
City led 2-0 at halftime through Rayan Cherki and Antoine Semenyo but were pegged back by a Dominic Solanke brace. Guardiola expressed frustration over refereeing decisions, suggesting Solanke’s first goal involved a foul.
“If a central defender does it to a striker it's a penalty,” Guardiola said, referencing the scramble leading to Spurs’ opener. He acknowledged a worrying trend of second-half drop-offs but remained defiant: “As much as the chance is there the hopes will always be there.”
The manager praised his team’s spirit amid injury difficulties but conceded the title challenge is now a daunting one, especially with a crucial trip to Liverpool next.
