The Zamfara State Police Command has successfully rescued Abdullahi Isah Nagari, a man abducted by armed bandits in Tsafe Local Government Area on January 29, 2026. According to the command's spokesperson, DSP Yazid Abubakar, the victim was found tied to a tree with a machete cut injury on his hand.

The rescue operation was conducted by a joint team of police and military personnel who acted on a report of the abduction. DSP Abubakar stated that security patrols have been intensified in the area to prevent further incidents and that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators.

The Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba, reassured the public of the command's commitment to protecting lives and property across the state. The rescued victim was taken to the General Hospital in Tsafe for immediate medical treatment.

This rescue is part of ongoing security operations against banditry in Zamfara. In recent months, the state has witnessed multiple kidnappings and attacks. Notably, in November 2025, the Nigerian Air Force conducted airstrikes on terrorist hideouts in Tsafe, and in January 2026, security forces rescued 36 abducted persons in Shinkafi LGA.

The police have urged residents to continue providing timely and actionable information to security agencies to aid in the fight against criminal elements.
