Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has reportedly escaped police arrest following allegations that he physically assaulted his fourth baby mama, actress Ashabi Simple, during a confrontation in Ogun State.
The alleged incident occurred on Thursday, January 1, 2026, when Ashabi visited Portable’s bar in the state. The confrontation later escalated into a heated altercation that has since gone viral on social media.
In a widely circulated video, Ashabi was seen holding onto the singer’s clothing while expressing frustration over being repeatedly referred to as just a “baby mama.” She insisted that Portable should also acknowledge her as his wife.
“Oya pami baby, I’m also your wife. You have to stop calling me your baby mama,” she said in the video.
Portable, however, responded by insisting that he recognizes only one wife, Bewaji, stating that other women who have children for him are baby mamas.

“I only have one wife. The rest of you are just baby mamas,” the singer said.
The exchange reportedly intensified the confrontation, with Ashabi responding emotionally, saying, “Then you will have to kill me, baby.”
Following the incident, Ashabi and her siblings reportedly went to the police to file a complaint against Portable for alleged assault and abuse.
In a video shared on Instagram, Ashabi alleged that when police officers later went to Portable’s residence to arrest him, they met his pregnant wife, Bewaji, while the singer had already fled.
Narrating her experience, Ashabi claimed that the altercation began after Portable invited her to his bar during the New Year celebration.
“When I got there, we had a minor disagreement and you slapped me, beat me up, seized our phones and threatened my siblings and I with an axe,” she alleged.
The incident has since generated mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians criticizing Ashabi for forcing herself into the relationship, while others condemned the alleged assault and called for accountability.
As of the time of filing this report, Portable has not publicly responded to the allegations.
