Troops of the Nigerian Army operating under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have successfully repelled a terrorist drone attack on their position at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Molai in Delwa village,  Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.

A source at Army Headquarters disclosed that the incident occurred on December 16, when terrorists attempted to deploy four armed drones fitted with explosives against the military facility.

According to the source, the drones were successfully neutralised by alert troops, preventing any damage to personnel or equipment. Military authorities have commenced exploitation efforts to trace the launch points of the drones and identify those responsible for the attempted attack.

The source further revealed that troops across Sectors 2, 3, and 4 of Operation Hadin Kai are sustaining offensive operations under Desert Sanity IV, aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and degrading their operational capabilities in the North-East.

In a related operation under Operation Safe Haven (OPEP), troops raided criminal hideouts and an illegal mining site located at Rafin Bauna and Gero mountains in Plateau State on the same day.

During the operation, three suspects were arrested, while items recovered included a locally fabricated rifle, one round of 7.62mm ammunition, a generator, shovels, and water pipes. The suspects and recovered items are currently in military custody for further investigation.
