The Anambra State Police Command has ordered the arrest of anyone impersonating security officers in the state. The directive comes after reports showed that some people were using police and other security uniforms to commit crimes and extort the public.
According to The Nation on Tuesday 9 December, 2025, Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, said that all unauthorised use of security uniforms, kits, or accessories is a criminal offence. He added that impersonators often intimidate residents and evade law enforcement while carrying out illegal activities.
