“That’s Not My Voice!” – Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Exposes Blackmail Plot with Fake Audio Targeting Tinubu

Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan denies fake audio blackmailing Tinubu and Akpabio

Suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has publicly denied any involvement in a controversial audio and video circulating online, which alleges she accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of blackmailing President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement released on June 4, 2025, and personally signed in Abuja, Akpoti-Uduaghan categorically rejected the claims, calling the content “a deliberate act of misinformation” aimed at damaging her integrity and destabilizing Nigeria’s political leadership.

“I categorically and unequivocally dissociate myself from this video and audio recording,” she stated. “At no time did I grant such an interview or hold any such conversation. The voice in the recording is not mine — it has been cloned and manipulated with malicious intent.”

According to her, the viral materials are not just false but represent a dangerous abuse of technology. She accused unnamed actors of attempting to stoke division within the leadership of the National Assembly and mislead the public with digital falsehoods.

She emphasized, “This is a calculated attempt to mislead the public, damage my reputation, and stir division. It is not only mischievous and criminal but also a dangerous abuse of technology to spread falsehood.”

Akpoti-Uduaghan reaffirmed her commitment to truth and justice, adding that her legal team, along with security agencies, has been instructed to trace the source of the doctored recordings and bring those responsible to justice.

“This is the work of desperate individuals intent on smearing the image of a law-abiding, peace-loving public servant,” she said. “I remain steadfast in my service to the people and urge Nigerians to remain vigilant against coordinated disinformation campaigns.”

As digital impersonation and AI-based audio cloning become more prevalent, political figures are increasingly forced to defend themselves against fake media. Natasha’s strong rebuttal sets the stage for what could become a landmark case on the criminal use of AI technology in Nigerian politics.
