Zenith Bank Plc has captured public attention following the approval of a substantial ₦195.67 billion dividend payout by its shareholders at the 34th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on April 29, 2025. This decision translates to a final dividend of ₦4.00 per share, culminating in a total dividend of ₦5.00 per share for the 2024 financial year.

The bank's impressive financial performance underpins this generous dividend. In 2024, Zenith Bank reported a remarkable 86% growth in gross earnings, escalating from ₦2.13 trillion to ₦3.97 trillion.

This surge was primarily driven by a 138% increase in interest income, bolstered by investments in high-yield government securities and an expanded loan portfolio. Additionally, customer deposits grew by 45%, and total assets rose by 47%, reflecting the bank's robust market position and effective balance sheet management.

At the AGM, Founder and Chairman Jim Ovia expressed gratitude to shareholders for their unwavering support, attributing the bank's resilience and stellar performance to their commitment.
