A disturbing new report has revealed that several Nigerian women have been deceived by fraudulent foreign education agents and trafficked into Russia—only to end up working in arms production facilities.
According to Vanguard, the victims were initially promised scholarships and employment opportunities in reputable Russian universities. However, upon arrival, many discovered they had been coerced into factory labor—specifically manufacturing military equipment for Russia’s ongoing war efforts.
The report details the testimonies of women who escaped the scheme, revealing that their documents were seized and that they were threatened if they refused to work. Some were placed in high-security industrial zones with minimal access to the outside world.
One of the victims shared, “They told me I was going to school, but I ended up working 12 hours daily in a factory producing military hardware. I was never paid. I was trapped.”
