Speaking on Nigeria Info FM 99.3, Disu emphasized the lack of constitutional power held by the vice president in Nigeria. His comment follows widespread speculation that Obi was being offered the VP slot by Atiku, which Obi has publicly denied. Disu, however, remained skeptical. “A Vice President is a spare tyre, and Peter Obi must be cautious. He is dealing with a seasoned politician,” Disu said. He added that trusting Atiku could backfire, warning that the vice presidency often carries no real influence.
He also cited past political drama, alluding to instances where vice presidents have been sidelined or humiliated. Disu noted, “You could be made Vice President and end up worse than the man who was mocked for calling the role a joke.”
