Gunmen Abduct Immigration Officer in Benue, Demand N20M Ransom – Shocking Details

Nigerian Immigration Officer kidnapped in Benue State

An officer of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Simon Agbo, has been abducted by unknown gunmen in Makurdi, Benue State, with the kidnappers demanding a N20 million ransom. The incident occurred on Sunday evening near NKST Church, Kuan, behind Modern Market.

According to family sources, Agbo was outside his home with two neighbors when the armed men stormed the area, firing gunshots before seizing him.

One neighbor, who persistently urged Agbo to return home earlier, has been arrested as a suspect. Vigilante groups launched a search, but the abductors escaped with the victim.

The NIS officer, recently transferred from Kwara State to Benue, remains missing as his family negotiates with the kidnappers. Efforts to confirm the incident with Benue Police Spokesperson CSP Catherine Anene and NIS officials were unsuccessful at press time.
