The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 39-year-old man, Best Orji, for allegedly defiling his two biological daughters, aged 12 and 14. The crime was reported by the victims’ mother on April 30, 2025, leading to an immediate investigation.
According to CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, the incident occurred in the Suru-Lere area. The suspect was swiftly apprehended, and the victims underwent medical examinations at a Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC). Best Orji was later arraigned on May 9, 2025, under Section 137 of the Lagos State Criminal Law (2015).
The Lagos Police Commissioner, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to fighting crime and protecting vulnerable citizens. CSP Hundeyin assured residents that the police will continue to deploy resources effectively to curb such atrocities.
