Police Kill Four Suspected Kidnappers in Rivers State in Fierce Gun Battle

In a major breakthrough, the Rivers State Police Command has neutralized four suspected kidnappers linked to the abduction and murder of businessman Hope Georgewill. The gang, operating along the Cawthorne Channel, had collected a ₦2 million ransom before killing their victim.


According to Police Spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko, the suspects—led by Preye Ngian-Ngian—were sea pirates terrorizing Bakana River. After arresting two gang members, police tracked the others to their hideout, where a gunfight erupted. Four suspects were fatally wounded, while others escaped with injuries.
