Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has launched a scathing rebuttal against ex-Senate President Bukola Saraki's criticism of his recent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The 2023 PDP vice presidential candidate dismissed Saraki's remarks as hypocritical during an explosive Arise TV interview.

Okowa's fiery response came after Saraki suggested PDP should focus on rebuilding rather than worrying about defectors. "I didn't expect Saraki to speak about me," Okowa stated. "He moved to APC before returning to PDP. He lacks the moral right to criticize my decision."

The political heavyweight defended his move to APC, hinting at his continued influence: "Those doubting my political reach should wait for 2027 elections." He also questioned the viability of opposition coalitions, stating they lacked clear direction and strength.

This public spat highlights deepening fractures within Nigeria's opposition politics as the 2027 elections approach. Political analysts suggest Okowa's defection and subsequent clash with Saraki could significantly reshape the PDP's future strategies.
