The accused was arraigned before Ogudu Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday and charged under Section 262 of Lagos Criminal Law (2015), which carries a 3-year jail term for sexual harassment.
According to Inspector Donjour Perezi, the prosecutor, Abdullahi and an accomplice (still at large) rubbed their genitals against the boy’s anus and paid him N2,000 to keep quiet. The crime was exposed when the boy’s sister caught him watching porn and he confessed.
Magistrate Mrs. S.K. Matepo remanded Abdullahi until July 14 pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). The case has ignited outrage, with calls for stricter laws against child sexual abuse in Nigeria.
