Air Peace Grounds ALL Flights Nationwide! NiMet Strike Sparks Chaos – Is Your Flight Affected?

Air Peace on Wednesday suspended all its flight operations across the country, attributing the decision to the ongoing industrial action by the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMet) staff. The airline explained that the strike action had affected essential safety and operational services critical to flight movement.

In a statement issued in Lagos by the airline’s Head of Corporate Communications, Dr Ejike Ndiulo, Air Peace emphasized that safety remained its top priority and operating without full meteorological support posed serious risks.

“We regret to announce the suspension of our operations due to the strike by NiMet staff. The action has impacted services vital for safe flight operations,” the statement read.

Passengers nationwide were caught unawares by the abrupt disruption, with many left stranded at various airports. While the airline expressed regret over the inconvenience, it stressed that the situation was beyond its control and efforts were ongoing to resume normal services as soon as conditions permit.

NiMet staff commenced the strike to protest unresolved issues with their employer, leading to a ripple effect across the aviation sector.

As of the time of filing this report, no timeline has been given for the resumption of flights.
