Man Utd Target Christopher Nkunku in 2025 as Chelsea Attacker Seeks Greater Playing Time

Manchester United are reportedly preparing to make a major move for Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku in 2025, with the French international growing increasingly frustrated with his lack of playing time at Stamford Bridge. 

Despite his impressive scoring form in cup competitions, Nkunku has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter in the Premier League under manager Enzo Maresca.

Nkunku’s £52 million transfer from RB Leipzig to Chelsea in 2023 was seen as a key addition to the Blues’ attacking force, but his first season in England has been marred by injuries. 

After a tough start, he found himself largely sidelined, and this season has seen him play just 154 minutes in the Premier League.

However, Nkunku has been far from ineffective in the cup competitions, making a significant impact with six goals in the UEFA Conference League and three in the League Cup. 

His 10 goals across all competitions this season have come from a mere 688 minutes of play, showcasing his potential despite limited opportunities.

Sky Germany recently reported that Nkunku is unhappy with his playing time, and French media outlet L’Equipe further claimed that Manchester United has taken notice. 

The Red Devils have reportedly made inquiries about a potential move in 2025, with the possibility of securing the talented forward as early as the January transfer window.

While Chelsea’s board has expressed a willingness to part ways with Nkunku if a suitable offer arrives, the club would only consider selling the Frenchman for the right price. 

With United looking to bolster their attacking options, Nkunku’s ability to perform under pressure and deliver in key moments has made him an attractive prospect for the Premier League giants.
