Lee Carsley Named England’s Interim Head Coach as FA Begins Search for Successor

Lee Carsley, the current England under-21 manager, has been appointed as the interim head coach for England’s senior team, the FA announced. 

Following Gareth Southgate’s departure after the Euro 2024 final loss to Spain, Carsley will lead the Three Lions into the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against the Republic of Ireland and Finland.

Carsley, who led the under-21 squad to victory in the UEFA U21 European Championship in 2023, is set to temporarily fill the role while the FA continues its search for a permanent head coach.
