Nigerian athlete Favour Ofili finished sixth in the women's 200 metres final at the 2024 Paris Olympics with a time of 22.24 seconds.

Despite not making it to the podium, her performance was historic as she became the first Nigerian to reach this final since Mary Onyali in 1996.

Gabrielle Thomas of the United States won the gold with a time of 21.83 seconds, followed by Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred with 22.08 seconds for silver, and USA’s Brittany Brown taking bronze.

Ofili's promising start couldn't hold through the final stretch, but her focus now shifts to the women's 4×100 relay.
