Paris 2024 Organizers Apologize for Controversial Opening Ceremony Performance

The organizing committee of Paris 2024 has apologized to Catholics and other Christian groups after a controversial opening ceremony performance. 

The scene, intended to interpret Dionysus, featured drag queens and a transgender model and evoked Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper. 

The committee expressed regret for any offense caused, emphasizing their intent to promote inclusivity and tolerance.
