House of Representatives Appeals to President Tinubu for Palliative Measures Amid Fuel Subsidy Removal Impact on Nigerians

The House of Representatives recently called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to implement measures that would reduce the negative impact of the fuel subsidy removal on struggling Nigerians.

The lawmakers explained that since the announcement of this policy on May 29, 2023, the average Nigerian has struggled to cope with the steep increase in fuel prices.

According to Guardianng report, Hon. Sani Madaki, the member of the House who presented the motion to implement palliative measures, urged President Tinubu to address the issue.

It will be recalled that President Tinubu directed Vice President Kashim Shettima and other officials to begin working towards developing effective, practical interventions to ease the effects of the subsidy removal.
