Financial commentator and social media personality Gehgeh has issued a public warning to social media activist Martyn Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, arguing that entering the power bank and power station business could turn him into "part of Nigeria's problems."
Gehgeh’s intervention followed the arrival of a 40-foot shipping container loaded with VeryDarkMan’s branded power banks and power stations from China under his Ratel Power Africa initiative.
In a commentary video that rapidly went viral across social platforms, Gehgeh argued that selling emergency power solutions creates an inherent conflict of interest for a social commentator who actively critiques governance and public infrastructure failure.
According to Gehgeh, selling power backup products positions VeryDarkMan to benefit commercially from persistent national grid collapses and poor electricity supply.
He suggested that the activist should have instead ventured into construction or civil infrastructure projects where public trust could drive transparent execution, advising VeryDarkMan to liquidate his inventory to tech entrepreneur B-Lord and return exclusively to social activism.
"If there is light, you may not be able to sell your power banks and power stations... The power business could put you in a position where you benefit from persistent electricity problems." — Gehgeh, Financial Expert
