The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is trending after extending the official deadline for candidates to accept or reject past university and tertiary institution admission offers.
The examination body extended the cut-off date to September 30, 2026, giving candidates a final 30-day window. Key details behind the policy include:
- Clearing Pending Offers (2021–Present): The extension applies to candidates who received admission offers dating from 2021 through current admission cycles on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) but left them unattended.
- Automatic Reversion to "Not Admitted": JAMB warned that any pending offer left without explicit candidate acceptance or rejection by September 30 will permanently revert to "Not Admitted" status, cleaning up national admission databases.
- No Risk to Current 2026 Candidates: JAMB clarified that candidates holding a pending past offer who have already secured a new admission offer for the 2026 session can safely reject the old offer without jeopardizing their current 2026 status.
- Matriculation & Official Letters: Candidates who officially accept their offers on the portal gain immediate access to print their official JAMB admission letters, which are mandatory for university matriculation lists and NYSC mobilization.
