Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu has voiced strong condemnation over the blockade that prevented Peter Obi from accessing the Yelwata Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Benue State.
Reacting to reported tension on Tuesday after suspected political thugs blocked access roads, Obi clarified that his visit was strictly humanitarian rather than campaign-driven.
Yesufu criticized the incident, emphasizing that under Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines, no individual or group possesses the authority to restrict candidate movement or humanitarian access across Nigeria.
"How dare anybody stop anyone from moving to any part of the country to campaign? INEC has declared that campaign has started." — Aisha Yesufu
