Operatives of the Mowe Division of the Ogun State Police Command have dismantled an illegal human trafficking syndicate operating a 'baby factory' at Abaren Village, Mowe.
The operation, conducted on August 24, 2026, resulted in the rescue of two heavily pregnant women—ages 23 and 20—and four young children, as well as the arrest of six suspects, including an attending nurse.
Follow-up investigations led officers to a local hospital where a third victim had given birth on August 20, though the whereabouts of the newborn remained unaccounted for, prompting the arrest of the attending nurse.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Eleweran, Abeokuta, to locate the missing infant and prosecute all culpable suspects.
Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, commended the operatives for their swift response and reaffirmed the command's commitment to stamping out human trafficking across the state.
