Ogun State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Abayomi Hunye, has publicly challenged the party's national leadership over claims that he was suspended prior to the primary process.
Appearing on Channels Television's Politics Today, Hunye questioned how the party could claim he was suspended on April 7, 2026, while subsequently selling him the governorship nomination and expression of interest forms for ₦50 million on April 28.
He emphasized that he submitted all required documentation, was successfully cleared at position number 52 on the official screening list, and participated in the primary election.
His comments follow statements by APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, disowning Hunye's candidate claims and reaffirming Senator Solomon Adeola (Yayi) as the party’s recognized flagbearer.
