Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 48-year-old businessman, Nwankwo Onyebuchi, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos with 1.550kg of cocaine concealed within his luggage.
According to NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy Femi Babafemi, the suspect was intercepted at Terminal II attempting to board a Qatar Airways flight to New Delhi, India, with the illicit consignment hidden inside the factory-fitted walls and railings of his checked bag.
During interrogation, Onyebuchi confessed that he sold his marble business and personal assets to raise N23 million to acquire the drugs, expecting to resell them in India for N100 million.
