Homicide Investigation Launched After Woman's Body Discovered in Osogbo Church



Police detectives in Osun State have launched a full-scale homicide investigation following the discovery of an unidentified woman's body inside a church premises in the Obelewo area of Osogbo. 


The deceased was found with her throat slashed and her left wrist severed and removed from the scene.

According to official details released by Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, Ani Iniedu, preliminary findings indicate that the victim was attacked and killed by unknown assailants who fled with the severed body part.

Detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) have secured the scene and deposited the remains at a local hospital mortuary for forensic examination and autopsy while working to establish the victim's identity.

Security agencies have urged members of the public with relevant information regarding missing persons or suspicious activities in the Obelewo area to contact local law enforcement immediately.
