The Board of Directors at Atlético Madrid has issued an official statement ruling out transfer negotiations with La Liga rivals FC Barcelona regarding Argentine forward Julián Álvarez.
The board reiterated its support for the club's strategy, maintaining that Barcelona failed to conduct dealings in an ethical and professional manner.
The statement follows comments from Barcelona president Joan Laporta, who indicated that the Catalan club's €100 million offer remained active.
Atlético board members confirmed there is zero consideration of selling Álvarez to Barcelona, citing his contract obligations through 2030 and his €500m release clause.
Meanwhile, Premier League club Arsenal continues to monitor the situation as the transfer window deadline approaches.
"FC Barcelona failed to meet these requirements and, as a result, there will not be any negotiation and there is zero consideration of an Alvarez transfer to Barcelona." — Atlético Madrid Board Statement
