Independent fuel retailers across Nigeria have implemented fresh price increases at the pump, pushing Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) rates to between N1,310 and N1,320 per litre.
A nationwide market survey revealed price adjustments ranging from N20 to N80 per litre. Major retail outlets including MRS, Ranoil, and Empire Energy adjusted their figures upward—with MRS recording the sharpest single jump of N80 per litre.
The retail price surge directly follows Dangote Petroleum Refinery's decision to increase its gantry price by N65 per litre to N1,265 per litre over the weekend.
The price movement comes amid ongoing regulatory friction between the 700,000-barrel-per-day refinery and downstream authorities over import licencing policies and product quality standards.
