The educational program is trending across national headlines because Chess in Slums Africa founder Tunde Onakoya, Jobs59 founder Sam Otigba, and AltSchool Africa co-founder Sultan Akintunde (HackSultan) officially launched a ₦250 million technology scholarship fund.
The initiative is specifically targeted at National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, prospective corps members, and recent graduates, aiming to bridge the youth unemployment gap by equipping beneficiaries with high-demand digital skills.

The announcement went viral as thousands of eligible Nigerian graduates rushed to the application portal (`[altschoolafrica.com/nysc](https://altschoolafrica.com/nysc)`).
Each selected scholar receives ₦160,000 in direct funding (covering application and tuition fees) for 9-to-12-month diploma programs in tracks like AI Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Engineering.
Furthermore, the program features a free laptop add-on scheme for applicants without personal computers, along with direct job placement and internship pathways starting in their sixth month of study.
