FIFA has officially announced the refereeing team for the 2026 World Cup final, appointing Slovenian official Slavko Vincic to oversee the high-stakes clash between Spain and Argentina.
The decision was confirmed on Friday ahead of Sunday's final, which is set to take place at the 80,663-capacity New York New Jersey Stadium.
Vincic, 46, will lead an all-Slovenian officiating crew, with Tomaz Klancnik and Andraz Kovacic serving as his assistants. Jordan’s Adham Makhadmeh has been designated as the fourth official.
This appointment marks the conclusion of an expanded 48-team tournament, with the final serving as the 104th match of the competition.
For Vincic, this final represents his fourth match of the 2026 World Cup, following impressive performances in two group-stage fixtures and one knockout round game.
Kick-off for the championship decider is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. local time (EDT) this Sunday.
