A professional private security guard, Adebanjo Samuel, has earned widespread commendations and national admiration after demonstrating an extraordinary level of financial integrity while on active duty in Lagos.
The corporate operative, who is employed by Proton Security Service Limited and deployed to a bustling First City Monument Bank (FCMB) commercial branch along Marina, Lagos, discovered a staggering sum of $9,100 in cash misplaced by a bank customer.
Rather than converting the foreign currency to personal use, Samuel immediately initiated protocols to ensure the entire sum was safely returned to its rightful owner.
In a formal corporate statement, the leadership of Proton Security Service Limited praised the security personnel, noting that his remarkable display of honesty serves as a validation of the ethical training and rigorous character standards instilled within their workforce.
The Managing Director of the security firm, Odebunmi Adekunmi, alongside the Director of Business Development and Strategy, Olabisi Familusi, announced comprehensive arrangements to host a grand civic reception at the company's corporate headquarters to formally celebrate and reward Samuel's exemplary behavior in front of his peers, family, and media representatives.
“It is not about the amount; it is about the principle. I was raised to be truthful and to do what is right irrespective of the circumstances. Even if the money had been much more, I would still have returned it. Integrity is something I believe should never be compromised,” Adebanjo Samuel reflected.
The management emphasized that Samuel's actions send a highly positive signal regarding the core values of young Nigerians on a global stage, proving that professional excellence is anchored on character.
The celebratory story has fast become an inspiring point of reference across the local financial district, reminding citizens that honor remains an invaluable asset.
