The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has issued a stern, uncompromising warning to the public, stating that reckless users of social media who deliberately weaponize digital platforms to spread national panic, fear, and disinformation will no longer go scot-free.
Making the declaration via his official X handle, the presidential media aide announced that law enforcement agencies have successfully tracked down and arrested the individual responsible for triggering a massive, chaotic security scare within the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The suspect had allegedly fabricated and aggressively circulated false alarms claiming an impending security breach and bandit invasion in the capital city.

The resulting digital disinformation threw suburb communities like Nyanya into absolute hysteria, disrupting vital academic activities and forcing terrified parents to pull their children out of classrooms ahead of closing hours.
While reiterating that the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration remains fundamentally committed to protecting constitutional free speech, Onanuga emphasized that deliberate acts designed to sabotage public peace, erode institutional trust, and endanger national security will be met with the full, heavy weight of the law.
