The armed bandits responsible for the daring abduction of the former Director of Defence Information, Major General Rabe Abubakar (retd), and his wife have officially released a chilling four-minute video demanding a non-conventional prisoner swap as a strict condition for the couple’s immediate release.
In the footage obtained on Saturday, June 6, 2026, the retired military general and his wife are seen sitting in a dense forest hideout under the surveillance of heavily armed guards.
Speaking in Hausa, the wife of the former defense spokesman made a passionate, emotional appeal to the Katsina State Government, traditional rulers, and community heads to facilitate the emergency release of three detained bandit fighters identified as Sani, Aminu, and Nasiru, who were previously arrested by state operatives in Jikamshi and Kano State.
