The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) is in mourning following a horrific road accident along the Calabar–Itu Highway that claimed the lives of three students and a staff member.
The victims were part of a 24-man delegation, mostly Students’ Union Government (SUG) executives, returning from an official assignment in Uyo.
The deceased have been identified as Comrade Solomon Uya (SUG Director of Sports), Comrade Lucky Erim (Faculty of Physical Sciences President), Comrade Favour Darlington, and Mr. Anthony Arikpo, the university driver.
Vice Chancellor Professor Francisca Bassey visited survivors on Saturday morning, assuring families that the university is providing "unwavering support" and the best medical attention for those still hospitalized.
