Trump Warns Tehran: ‘They Will Be Laughing No Longer’ After Iran Submits Peace Proposal

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a fiery warning to the Iranian government, accusing Tehran of mocking the United States for nearly five decades.

In a post on Truth Social on Sunday, May 10, 2026, Trump stated that Iran has been "playing games" with the world and vowed that the nation's alleged mockery would soon come to a definitive end.

The President's comments coincide with reports from Iranian state media that Tehran has formally submitted a response to a U.S. peace proposal.

The proposal aims to halt hostilities in Lebanon and secure shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump, however, took the opportunity to slam former President Barack Obama, claiming his policies gave Iran a "powerful new lease on life" through the 2015 nuclear deal.

According to Qubes Magazine, the response from Tehran was reportedly forwarded to Washington via Pakistani mediators.

While the U.S. State Department has yet to release an official reaction to the specifics of the proposal, Trump’s "Great Again" rhetoric suggests a high-pressure approach to the upcoming negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear program.
