Troops Foil ISWAP Assault on Magumeri Base; Several Terrorists Neutralized

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have successfully repelled a daring infiltration attempt by Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) terrorists at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Magumeri, Borno State. 

The attack, which occurred in the early hours of Wednesday under the cover of poor visibility, resulted in heavy casualties for the insurgents.

In a statement released by Media Information Officer Lt.-Col. Sani Uba, it was confirmed that while the terrorists briefly breached an isolated section of the camp, they were quickly overpowered.

Sadly, two soldiers lost their lives in the line of duty. Following the encounter, troops discovered extensive blood trails and recovered abandoned weaponry, including AK-47 rifles and PKT automatic anti-aircraft guns.

According to Qubes Magazine, the military is currently conducting exploitation operations in the surrounding area to track fleeing insurgents. 

The High Command has lauded the gallantry of the troops, emphasizing that this victory reinforces the military's commitment to eliminating terror threats in the North-East.
