A businessman identified as Alhaji Wasiu Aleshinloye has been abducted by gunmen in Irawo, Atisbo Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The violent attack, which occurred on Monday night, May 11, 2026, also left a 10-year-old girl, Modinat Aleshinloye, with serious gunshot injuries.
The victim was reportedly trailed from Kraal Market in Ago-Are to his filling station and eventually to his residence, where three armed men seized him.

During the struggle, the young girl was shot and has since been rushed to a hospital for the extraction of pellets.
The Oyo State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that tactical teams have been deployed for a rescue operation.
According to Qubes Magazine, the police recovered three expended ammunition shells and three face caps from the scene for forensic examination.
This incident mirrors a growing trend of targeted abductions in the state, coming just months after a similar attack on a trader in the Lagelu local government area.
Police PRO Olayinka Ayanlade assured the public that intelligence-driven efforts are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators.
