Tensions have flared in Osun State following the killing of Kolade Eluyera, the son of the Irewole Accord Party Women Leader.

The deceased was found with gunshot wounds near Onireke Mosque in Ikire on Friday night.

The Imole Campaign Council, representing Governor Ademola Adeleke, has called for an immediate independent investigation, alleging the attack was carried out by thugs linked to the APC.

The APC has swiftly dismissed these claims, with spokesperson Kola Olabisi describing the allegations as "frivolous and fabricated."

According to Qubes Magazine, the incident has raised significant security concerns among residents as the state prepares for future electoral cycles.

Both parties have been urged by security agencies to maintain peace while the investigation into the "dangerous and alarming" violence continues.
