An international drug trafficking operation has been intercepted in India following the arrest of a Nigerian national, Tochukwu Afame, also known as "Prince Charles."
Afame and an accomplice, Sunny Sharma, were apprehended on Saturday for allegedly smuggling cocaine into the country using a highly unusual concealment method: medical equipment.
According to reports from Indian news medium Dainik Jagran, the suspects hid high-grade cocaine inside blood pressure (BP) machine boxes to bypass routine courier checks between Delhi and Raipur.
Investigators believe the network is coordinated by a handler in Nigeria identified only as “Chichi.” “The packaging was designed to avoid suspicion, as the drugs were concealed inside BP machine boxes,” police authorities noted.
The investigation, which began in March, led to a raid in the Tilak Nagar area of Delhi where Afame was captured. Authorities recovered five iPhones, cash totaling 9.70 lakh, and other financial documents.
According to Qubes Magazine online research, Afame had a history of visa violations in India and was suspected of managing logistics for a broader syndicate.
This arrest marks the third Nigerian drug-related apprehension in India in less than a week, as Indian narcotics units intensify their 2026 "Clean State" operations.
