The Nigeria Police Force has recorded a significant breakthrough against transnational organized crime networks following a successful operation by the Intelligence Response Team (IRT).
The tactical raid led to the total dismantling of an entrenched human trafficking and fraudulent exploitation syndicate operating across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and neighboring states.
According to an official security brief released from Force Headquarters and signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Okon Placid, the high-intensity operations culminated in the safe rescue of 30 foreign nationals and the immediate arrest of 13 primary suspects directly tied to the regional cartel.
Police authorities identified the principal suspect and alleged syndicate kingpin as Abdul Ngaki, who operated the network alongside twelve other key coordinates including Fatimah Kulibali, Ahmad Kasango, Sidibe Musa, Muhammad Dembele, and Saidu Traore.

The extensive investigations were initiated after discrete intelligence channels picked up patterns concerning the mysterious disappearance of several foreign nationals who entered Nigeria under ambiguous circumstances.
Preliminary field reports revealed that the syndicate explicitly profiled and targeted vulnerable young individuals from neighboring West African countries—most notably Mali and Gabon—luring them with deceptive promises of seamless migration routes to Europe or highly lucrative employment placements within commercial centers in Nigeria.
Detailing the harrowing conditions the victims endured, DCP Placid stated:
“Victims were induced to pay processing and transportation fees before being conveyed to residential locations in Mararaba and Karu, Nasarawa State, where they were held under exploitative and restrictive conditions. Investigations established that victims who could not meet additional financial demands were coerced into participating in staged kidnapping schemes orchestrated by the syndicate. Under the arrangement, victims were forced to contact relatives in their home countries while pretending to have been kidnapped, thereby compelling family members to remit ransom payments into accounts controlled by the syndicate.”
Armed with actionable cyber-intelligence, operatives of the IRT executed coordinated tactical raids on May 7, 2026, at fortified criminal hideouts located along Barrister Road, Rugan Dakachi, Nasarawa State.
The operation yielded the rescue of all 30 captive victims, who have since been positively identified as Malian nationals.
The Nigeria Police Force has reaffirmed its systemic commitment to combating cross-border human trafficking and structural exploitation, assuring the public and diplomatic communities that all 13 suspects will face fast-tracked prosecution as soon as inter-agency profiles are concluded.
