Nigerian international defender Kevin Akpoguma is set to draw the curtain on his lengthy career with Bundesliga side Hoffenheim after the current season.
The 31-year-old center-back, who joined the club from Karlsruher SC in 2013, will see his contract expire this summer, with the club reportedly opting not to offer an extension.
Akpoguma’s journey with Die Kraichgauer included successful loan spells at Fortuna Düsseldorf and Hannover 96 before he cemented his place as a reliable figure in the first team.

However, playing time has been scarce this term, with the veteran making only eight appearances.
He is expected to make an emotional final appearance at the PreZero Arena this weekend when Hoffenheim hosts SV Werder Bremen.
According to Qubes Magazine, Akpoguma leaves behind a legacy of loyalty, having transitioned from a German youth international to a key member of the Super Eagles during his time in the Bundesliga.
Fans are expected to give the long-serving defender a warm send-off in recognition of over a decade of dedication.
