Mr. Odinia Emmanuel Godson, the father of former Big Brother Naija winner Ilebaye, has publicly addressed the allegations of domestic violence and physical assault against his daughter.
In a viral confession video shared by a journalist on Facebook, Mr. Godson admitted to the incident, citing a breakdown in communication and a lack of "expected returns" following her 2023 victory.
Mr. Godson claimed that he was responsible for over 75% of her success, leveraging his personal relationships to secure votes for her.

"In my culture, you don't wait for a child to spoil before you correct them," he stated, explaining his actions as a form of parental discipline gone wrong.
According to Qubes Magazine, the confession follows a distressing Instagram Live session on Friday at midnight, where a tearful Ilebaye appeared with a swollen face, screaming for help while a man believed to be her father was seen assaulting her in the background.
